Christi is currently in full-time private practice in Garsfontein, Pretoria East where she provides psychotherapy and conducts assessments.
In terms of clinical work, Christi works with a wide range of difficulties including affective disorders (depression and bipolar mood disorder), anxiety, PTSD, adjustment difficulties, and personality disorders.
Regarding assessment, Christi provides neuropsychological assessments for diagnostic and treatment purposes. She also conducts assessments for fitness to return to work/function independently predominantly for insurance claims.
1 Military Hospital, SANDF
Christi was employed at 1 Military Hospital for five years where she was responsible for coordinating neuropsychology service delivery on an in-patient and out-patient basis, training and supervision of intern psychologists as well as student psychologists in neuropsychological assessment, cognitive assessment, emotional assessment and psychological report writing.
During her career in the military, Christi conducted numerous fitness to serve in the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) assessments. These assessments were to establish functioning and recommend accordingly post brain injury. Additionally, Christi conducted evaluations for the South African Airforce determining the fitness of pilots and air traffic controllers to return to flight related duties.
Christi has been involved in training on a master’s level for the psychology masters programmes at both the University of Pretoria and the University of Johannesburg. She lectured students in psychodiagnostics, neuropsychology, psychological evaluation, assessments and report writing.
