Corné worked and consulted for diverse societies and organisations. She has more than 15 years’ experience in HR strategies and processes, assessment practices, psychological services, performance and change management strategies, trauma counselling as well as leadership development.
Corné also has a background in psychometric assessments and has worked in the mining, consulting and police services. She developed and managed an integrated, innovative psychometric assessment strategy for Implats, a leading producer of platinum, which was accepted and applied across all group operations. This also included an online supervised assessment process for miners, exclusively tailored to the requirements and nature of the business for which Trade Union approval was received uniquely across all group operations. She further initiated the development of a customised norm group for miners which contributed immensely towards performance and safety metrics and analytics. She also introduced psychomotor skills acquisition assessments for the purpose of selection and screening of machine Operators which contributed towards talent acquisition as well as training efficacy. Corné served on the Chamber of Mines Sub-committee tasked with the development of a safety behaviour initiative to be applied and implemented at all mines across SA.
During her employment with the SAPS she predominantly focused on Mental Health, Wellbeing and Trauma Management, as well as mental and cognitive evaluations of specialised units such as the Flying Squad & Special Task Force (STF). Corné was Trauma Coordinator for the Greater Marico Area, North West Province.
In 2013, Corné established private practice (Van Dyk Consulting Psychologists Inc.) working with clients inclusive of Platinum Health Medical Scheme; Bidvest Protea Coin; Fraser Alexander; Mandirk; Royal Bafokeng Platinum Mine; CombrinkKgatse Inc.; Tharisa Mine and E-Tek.
Regardng medicolegal work, Corné’s experience in diverse contexts coupled with a strong background in psychometric assessments enables provision of professional industrial psychology services for loss of income claims.
